Your responsibilities

Summary

The Controller will analyze the financial status of the company and work with the CFO to develop and carry out long-term financial goals while directing the preparation of all financial reports, statements, audits, operating budgets, and controls.

  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Establish/recommend major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis including P&L, balance sheet, sales reporting, and other analysis.
    • Inter-company cost review and analysis.
    • Oversight of sales tax return process to include preparation of quarterly/annual.
    • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting and Analysis
    • Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
    • Forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
    • Performs financial analysis of new business/program quoting.
    • Manages capital spend within the approved limits and creates business cases to justify new investments.
  • Maintain, administer, and oversee:
    • Company credit card program
    • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including oversight of credit and collections.
    • Compliance with accounting and reporting procedures.
    • Cost accounting and inventory costing.
    • Oversee aftermarket warehouse including personnel management and inventory budgeting, control, and analysis.
  • People Leadership
    • Set clear, relevant performance expectations and measures, provide coaching and feedback to improve performance, motivate individuals to higher levels of performance and acknowledge and reward people for a job well done.
    • Ensure that highly talented, driven and promotable candidates within group are being seen and hired for all open positions.
    • Scope of responsibility includes Aftermarket and Motorsports CAR personnel, procurement personnel, and Aftermarket Warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Ensure compliance and safety of all activities within the organization standards and policies.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your profile

Qualifications & Experience

Work History/Degree

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education and experience. CPA or advanced degree preferred.
    • Demonstrated successful experience at the level of controller, assistant controller, or senior accounting manager in a comparable industry with demonstrated in-depth knowledge.
  • Job Specific Skills
    • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principlesunderstands P&L and balance sheet dynamics.
    • Proven ability to read and interpret documents as well as write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and projections. Superior analytical skills and intellectual curiosity to develop and maintain complex financial models.
    • Demonstrated strong project management experience in planning, executing, and maintaining a project from start to finish.
    • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills with experience in and capable of working in a fast-paced business environment with tight deadlines.
    • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office including expert skills in excel. Working knowledge of SAP or similar system, a plus. Previous SharePoint experience a plus.
  • People Skills
    • Strong, proven effective hands-on leader that garners trust and loyalty from subordinates and possesses and displays integrity and ethics that are beyond reproach. Proven ability to build strong business relationships at all levels throughout an organization.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of staff and management in the most professional and politically correct manner. Possesses strong presentation skills and is comfortable and adept at communicating to and influencing opinion in large groups.

    • Demonstrated high level of initiative and drive. Possesses a natural sense of ownership for projects and responsibilities.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
