Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a Compensation leader to join the Human Resources team. In this role the Compensation Leader will be a source of expertise, consulting advice and solution alternatives and will develop strategic yet practical plans to support our evolving and growing business and employment brand. The role will provide design, implementation, and communication leadership over such reward components as salaries, variable incentive plans, sales compensation, long-term equity incentive plans, recognition and spot bonus programs, career paths and other reward elements, while also operating in a tactical and supervisory capacity to execute on program details successfully.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the VP of Global Total Rewards and HR Operations to build and refine a multi-year total rewards strategy that balances market competitiveness with Maravai's culture, financial objectives and workforce strategy.
  • Partner with HRBPs and other HR Centers of Expertise to develop innovative solutions to support successful business outcomes, increase operational effectiveness and leverage systems and technology.
  • With the Compensation Manager and HR Operations partnership, lead the annual global compensation planning process. This includes the review of salary, incentive payouts, and equity awards. Partner with HRBPs, Talent Management and leaders to ensure linkages and alignment to talent management processes including performance and talent reviews.
  • Innovate and deliver recognition program designs, communications, and overall management that tie in with our overall people strategy, enhance the employee experience, and support best-in-class Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Succession Planning, and Performance Management processes.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of a global job architecture and career framework for Maravai, which provides an underlying structure of job classifications, career paths, leveling, titles and salaries aligned to ensure universal understanding, application and tie-in with talent programs.
  • Oversee global market analyses, ensuring appropriate sources of market competitive information. Ensure delivery of a market-based salary structure that will align with the job architecture framework. Periodically review other elements of the rewards strategy for market competitiveness (bonus targets, long-term incentives, car allowances).
  • Coordinate with Stock Administration, Payroll, Finance, IT, Legal and other colleagues to ensure the optimal implementation and controls (SOX) are in place; maintain and update documentation on the company's internal processes as needed; monitor program costs and participate in budget planning.
  • Provide oversight, leadership and expertise ensuring that all compensation and pay practices are compliant with pertinent regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, those enforced by local/federal government. Support diversity and inclusion strategies by implementing policies and metrics to report on and achieve pay equity, career development and promotion action goals across our diverse workforce.
  • Coordinate and perform special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors required with 10+ years progressive HR and total rewards experience.
  • Exceptional analytical capability and attention to detail.
  • Adept in making people connections, building trust, collaborating, and creating a great work environment.
  • Results driven and solution oriented; skilled and experienced in leading projects and enabling teamwork; a sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership that enables the ability to manage priorities.
  • Ability to combine strategic agility with strong focus on execution and detail. Ability to analyze future trends and competitive threats, while designing tactics to address.
  • Strong bias for process improvement to include documentation and training.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills. Ability to deliver clear, understandable presentations for various audiences from employees to senior leaders.
  • LifeSciences industry experience.
  • Experience working with international total rewards and an appreciation for the complexities of operating outside the US.
  • Expert and advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools, in particular Excel.
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow a plus.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $158,000 - $180,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
