Overview

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, this position will work cross functionally with design engineering to help resolve issues, quality engineering as part of MRB to support disposition of non-conformances, operators to help solve issues and identify process improvement opportunities, program management on scope and budget, planner/buyers/suppliers to resolve part issues, and peers for review of proposed process and tooling changes.

Major Position Responsibilities
    Support manufacturing at Material Review Board (MRB) in determining material disposition and determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Design and implement lean process flows, assembly tooling, test equipment, and work area requirements.
  • Develop and write assembly and test procedures, ensuring manufacturing baseline strategies as well as customer specific requirements are being met.
  • Interface with design engineering and suppliers to provide solutions to technical problems in manufacturing. Review designs for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Present manufacturing status to customers and management.
  • Lead failure analyses using tools such as 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Provide labor & material estimates for program Estimate to Complete (ETC) and proposals
  • Perform value stream mapping (VSM) and conduct Kaizen events as needed.
  • Coordinate and approve transition of Special Test Equipment (STE) to manufacturing
  • Conduct and document Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies
  • Conduct and document process FMEA's
Basic Qualifications
  • Bacherlor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering in related field.
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Experience with MS Office tools
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing practices
  • Strong knowledge of setting up and operating CNC equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Strong knowledge of trouble shooting manufacturing processes
  • Strong knowledge of fixture & gauge design use
Pay Range (USD)
$74,550.00 - $138,450.00
Additional Compensation
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
