Overview

Role Summary: This role serves as the GIS Technical Lead providing guidance and structure for designing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial system infrastructure utilizing industry best practices for large federal program.

Work Environment:

    Location is flexible: NV5 offices or work from home considered
  • Travel 25% of the time

Responsibilities
  • Develops system hardware specifications, design strategies, documentation, and plans
  • Provides support for planning, design, and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions, including requirements developments, data analysis, modeling, testing, and deployment
  • Coordinates with Agency IT leads to ensure systems/solutions are developed in accordance to policy and align to enterprise strategies
  • Provide technical vision to client and team
  • Solution Design and implementation
  • Guides technical team/translates requirements
  • Document and present technical best practices
  • Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to complete Requirements Solicitation/Refinement
  • Security and nonfunctional requirements
  • Provide accurate and timely estimates/Level of Effort (LOE)
  • Stay up to date on ESRI technology and best practices
  • Market/educate clients on technologies and platforms

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in geography, technology, science, engineering, business, or another related field, or equivalent experience*
  • 10+ years of experience or equivalent supporting IT/GIS system and data integration projects with the ability to define requirements and recommend enterprise solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of Esri platform

*Additional experience can be substituted for education
