Celebrating a Century:

POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

A postdoctoral position is immediately available to identify new therapeutic agents that suppress SARS-CoV-2 infection both in vivo and in vitro and COVID-19, in mice.

While the development of effective vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, vaccine hesitancy in developed countries and vast shortages in low-to-middle income countries are jeopardizing efforts to curb the pandemic. It is estimated that significant proportions of the population are unlikely to be vaccinated until 2030, at the earliest. Consequently, the conditions are ripe for continued spike mutation and evolution to increasingly transmissible strains causing more severe illness. Some of these emerging strains should challenge the protection of current vaccines. Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify new therapies to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection and prevent COVID-19.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with the approval of the Principal Investigator. Candidates should have work experience with mice. Please send CV and three professional references.

COMPENSATION: Postdoctoral Associates will be hired following the National Institute of Health and California's exempt salary guidelines, which provide for a starting range of $68,000- $73,230. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
