Salary range: The salary range for this position is $64,329-$181,015. "Off-scale salaries", i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Scripps Institution of Oceanography Department, at UC San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The Department is currently accepting applications for temporary, non-tenure track lecturers (Unit 18) to teach for the upcoming academic year. All areas of earth, atmospheric, oceanographic and marine biosciences may be considered. We are seeking candidates with mentorship, student-centered pedagogy, and classroom management skills. A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are highly desirable. Positions available for the 2023/24 academic year are part time.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

A candidate must have Bachelor's degree, or higher, in these or related fields, demonstrated knowledge of the "state of the field", and evidence of effective teaching are required.
